Biographical information:
Since school, I've been...
I attended Oglethorpe University, and have a MA in Elementary Education. I taught for 30 years, retired, and am very active in the community where I live in West Point, Georgia
My family:
I have one daughter, two grandsons, and two greatgranddaughters, my husband of twentythree years passed away in 2006.
Life experiences:
So very many! I have been very blessed with a wonderful career, business ventures, and work in four organizations, Alpha Delta Kappa, teacher sorority, West Point Womans Club, Wedgewood Garden Club, and I founded the Friends of the Hawkes Library, West Point. I just finished training to be a literacy volunteer and I am excited about that.
My favorite things in school:
I loved living in the dormitory, being in the Juniorettes (and am now VP in the West Point Womans Club),I remember my dear "housemates", my wonderful and inspiring teachers, and the wonderful trip to Europe some of the members of our senior class took. What an experience that was through six countries! I remember our swim meets and the wonderful diving team we had, my driving coach, and have such good memories.
My favorite things now:
I love being involved with the community organizations. I had a small business venture for a time, and have worked parttime at the Georgia Welcome Center in West Point. I love to travel, have a small vacation home in Panama City, Fla. and love to meet the authors who come to our city library.
My favorite books, movies and music:
I love the classic movies, all kinds of musicshow tunes (Im from the Elvis era, who cannot be grateful for rock n roll) I do like folk music, and books bring them on! reading is the KEY!
I work at:
All over by choice!
